Day 1 - 27 March 2010 This weekend sees a special media event in Galway, where a team of photographers, writers and artists aim to put together a magazine from start to finish – in 48 hours!
The magazine, the brainchild of Galway-based photographer Reg Gordon, aims to highlight local Arts... in Galway – such as music, fashion, food, theatre and art. The team will congregate at midnight on Friday 27th March for their first meeting and will work together to have the magazine published by midnight on Sunday 29th March on the online publishing website, issuu.com.
Reg explains, “This is just a group of like minded people coming together with one idea - to have fun and produce a document of a weekend in Galway. It’s a step away from the usual in so far as it is completely commercial free. Everyone is working in an amateur capacity, all doing it for the love of the project. It’s something I just decided to put out there and am incredibly impressed with the response - people have cleared their weekends to be involved”.
For more information, log onto www.48hourmagazine.com or follow the team’s progress over the weekend on their Twitter page @48hourmag and Facebook page, 48 Hour Magazine Galway. The finished product will be available to view online via the website or directly on www.issuu.com/48hours from midnight on Sunday.
